Dear Friends,
Last night in Selangor Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim campaigned once again in front of thousands of people in Kapar, Pandan, Ampang, Selayang and Gombak. Crowds endured the heavy, at times torrential rain to hear his message for change and be inspired by his belief and hope in the wisdom of the Malaysian people.
After fifty years of independence the Malaysian people are ready for a new brand of leadership. Gone are the days of playing the race-card and pitting one ethnic group against the other. The idea that economic growth is incompatible with democratic freedoms, the so-called thesis on Asian Values, is giving way to a new vision for the country that cherishes freedom and respects the dignity and creativity of each individual. Robust economic growth is possible along with a reduction in poverty and and better public service for people including education and health care.
All this is possible but we must first elect a government that respects the Constitution and truly represents the aspirations of all groups in Malaysia.
Instead of offering hope, UMNO candidates are traveling around the country threating to withhold government support for people who support the Rule of Law, a stronger, vibrant and more competitive Malaysian economy, lower prices, and are opposed to the endemic corruption plaguing the Barisan Nasional.
This is what KeADILan stands for and what Anwar Ibrahim promises to implement as leader. On March 8 do your part to support change in Malaysia and vote KeADILan.
